If you would like to try a set of winter tyres but don’t want to fork out £250-£400 on a second set of tyres, then you may be able to try a set of Goodyear winter tyres for free.
National fast-fit network HiQ has decided that the best way to convince people of the benefits of winter tyres is to let them try them for themselves. To make this happen, HiQ has teamed up with Goodyear to provide 25 volunteer testers with a set of winter tyres.
All the testers will have to do in return is write a 500-word review about the experience of living with the cold weather tyres. This will be published online and used as a showcase by HiQ to convince more motorists of the benefits of winter tyres.
Remember: Winter tyres are not just for snow and ice. They provide superior grip in all conditions when the temperature falls below 7 degrees C – which is 5-6 months per year in many parts of the UK.
I’m a big fan of winter tyres (and all-season tyres, which I think should be standard fitment on many UK cars) and I will probably be entering this competition myself. I’ll let you know if I get selected.
In the meantime, if you want to be in with a chance of winning a set of free Goodyear winter tyres, visit: www.hiqonline.co.uk/tyreTester/
Entries close on 5th November 2011 and the winners will be notified by 13th November 2011.
