Muc-Off has now launched a new range of car care kits that contain everything you need in one kit. The most useful of these kits for most drivers will be the Supreme Car Care Kit, which contains my three favourite Muc-Off products plus all the cleaning gear you will need:
- Muc-Off Ubershine Shampoo
- Muc-Off Split-Second Detailer Wax
- Muc-Off Frequent Wheel Wash
- 2 in 1 Chenille Microfibre Wash Mitt
- 2 Luxury Microfibre Polishing Cloths
- Storage Bag
I can pretty much guarantee that after an hour or so’s work with this lot, your car will be clean, shiny and looking noticeably better than it was before.
Here’s a quick run-down of each of these products:
Ubershine Shampoo: Thick, creamy, sweet-smelling and very effective. Ubershine Shampoo is one of the best I have ever used and beat my usual benchmark shampoo from Autoglym.
Split-Second Detailer Wax: Keep your car looking ‘just waxed’ all year round without the effort of polishing it. Getting a wet-look, water-beading finish with Muc-Off’s Split-Second Detailer Wax only takes a few minutes – just spray it on, wipe it off and buff lightly. Even a large car will only take 10-15 minutes to do and the results are excellent. This big 1 litre bottle will last ages, even for large cars.
Frequent Wheel Wash: Alloy wheels get a constant coating of brake dust and road dirt that can become engrained and cause the alloys to lose their factory shine. Regular shampoo does not always remove this efficiently, but a regular dose of wheel wash together with a quick scrub with a wheel brush will keep your alloys looking as shiny as when they were new.
Brush, Wash Mitt and Microfibre Cloths: These three are car washing essentials – especially the mitt and microfibre cloths. Microfibre cloths are brilliant spray polished and for wiping your car dry and leaving a smear-free finish – I have loads and use them for almost every cleaning task.
The Muc-Off wash mitt is a great example of the breed and highlights why they are better than the traditional sponge. On one side, the microfibre wash surface breaks up dirt and lifts it off the paintwork, plus the microfibre holds more liquid than a sponge, meaning fewer trips to the bucket. On the other side of the mitt, Muc-Off’s ‘microfibre waffle’ does a grand job of removing insects from your car – it’s much better at this than any sponge I’ve ever used.
The wheel and component brush is a good all-round shape for most alloy wheels and other awkward areas, such as under wheel arches.
Muc-Off’s Supreme Car Care Kit contains everything you will need to keep the outside of your car clean and shiny with a minimum of effort. What’s not to like?
