This week is Road Safety Week (www.roadsafetyweek.org.uk). The biggest contribution any of us can make to road safety is to become better drivers – but technology makes a big contribution too.
Even small city cars like the new Volkswagen Up! can now achieve 5* NCAP crash testing ratings that would have been impossible a few years ago.
Much of the technology used in road safety filters down from motorsport – racing cars are much safer than they used to be and undergo extremely rigourous safety testing.
This weekend’s F1 race in Brazil marks the end of the Formula One season and another dominant year by Red Bull Racing and champion Sebastien Vettel. To mark the occasion we’d like to give away a copy of Haynes Red Bull Racing F1 Car Manual to one lucky winner (click here to see our review of this book).
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to like our Facebook page (click here) and leave us a comment telling us what you think the single most important bit of safety technology is in a modern car. If you’ve already liked our Facebook page then just leave a comment.
(If you’re not on Facebook, just leave a comment below instead. You will still be entered into the draw.)
All comments received by noon (UK time) on the 28th November 2011 will be included in the prize draw. One winner will be selected at random and notified by 1st December 2011.
